The ‘ways to wear it’ of Leggings

Ways to wear it(words) – the various ways to wear one item Ex: She wears the same leggings every single day, but there are so many ways to wear it, no one even notices.

Leggings are definitely NOT boring clothing items, they are probably the most inventive clothing items ever made. They can be paired up and matched up with just about anything, and they can be worn the most casual of events to the most formal.

Ways to wear ‘em

- Pair black leggings underneath a long button-up top or cardigan sweater for a casual look that is comfortable

- For a figure friendly look, choose a dark coloured top, preferably black, with leggings which will ensure a sleek and lean look

- In partly chilly weather, black leggings go well underneath casual denim skirts

- Leggings with a dress or tunic paired with knee length boots

- A long shirt with leggings for a casual not to overdone look

- Brown leggings with an oversized tunic style blouse, worn with a coordinating belt across the waist show off your figure in a flattering way.

- Leggings worn alone with a shirt covering your bottom makes legs look ever so slender.

- Simple black leggings with a long glitzy top worn with high heel pumps.– give a chic club ready look

- & Leggings paired with oh so much more.

A hot topic debate in the leggings world is the issue of “leggings as pants” Some girl’s feel that leggings should only be worn with long t-shirts, dresses and skirts that cover your derrière. Some girl believe that leggings ARE pants as long as they are completely opaque.

Rhea R says, “If u want casual you can do that or you can always play them up...it depends on the style (material) of the leggings and the shirt/upper clothing item(s) of course.” LouLou magazine is completely opposed to the idea of leggings as pants; their editor’s blog is titled: leggings are not pants, people! They conclude their blog with “So for the sake of fashion and for the sake of those who have to walk up the stairs right behind you, cover up your upper upper thighs with a top!”

  1. I find your presentation of people's beliefs on whether leggings can be considered pants or not very interesting. Personally, I don't believe that leggings must be worn with a long top - it really depends on the event and the leggings themselves. If you're going to school, than a cardigan or long tee over leggings is a go-to look. However, a night out demands a little more drama, therefore a little more can be showing, such as leggins with a glitzy top that may or may not cover the, as you so eloquently put it, derriere. The leggings themselves determine a lot as well. Sheer or light-coloured leggings should only be worn with long tops, but thick/opaque or dark-coloured leggings, in my opinion, don't neccessarily need to be covering the bottom. Overall, leggings on one girl can look completely different on another, therefore it's essential that each girl wears their leggings based on their own look, rather than trying to mimic another person's.

  3. Thanks for sharing some tips. Someone will eventually find this blog searching up for tips on how to wear leggings :D

Leggings can be worn with certain tops, on certain occasions and by certain people. Wearing leggings with a short top is only excusable if it's opaque and there's no visible underwear line--this also goes with people who were tights! And I hope people know the difference between tights and leggings.

I suppose that the issue regarding "leggings are not pants" is that some people don't mind that they're showing too much skin. They would argue, "If you don't like it, then don't look at it." I don't think they realize that it's kind of hard not to look when it's right in front of your face.
